In addition to the enhancement of solutions by companies in the park, these are some of the additional services for R&D&I activities.

Cantabria has a powerful network of educational centres with vocational training in technical areas, adapted to the needs of companies.

These capacities and possibilities are largely due to the quality of the companies currently located in the PCTCAN, leaders in sectors such as ICT engineering and consultancy, telecommunications, biotechnology, and energy.

With companies from all over the world joining the PCTCAN activity and the establishment of collaboration networks with technology parks across Spain, these assets continue to grow.

XTELA ACCELERATION PROGRAMME

The PCTCAN Management Company, is launching the XTELA Business Acceleration and Open Innovation Programme with the collaboration of the CEOE , which involves taking part in a series of initiatives for companies in Cantabria to collaborate with start-up teams through cooperation arrangements to implement solutions for real Industry 4.0 projects.

This is an international programme aimed at innovative Startups from anywhere in the world that propose innovative solutions in the fields of industry, health and biotechnology.

With the collaboration of:

  • Experts specialising in different strategic lines.
  • Regional system knowledge agents.
  • Promoting and collaborating with companies, both in the international market for its projection, as well as in the local market for its establishment.

R&D&I CENTRES

CTC

The CTC Technology Centre was created in 2000 as a private non-profit foundation. Its main objective is to improve the competitiveness of companies by generating technological knowledge, carrying out R&D&I activities, and developing their application.

CITICAN

The Investigation and Technology Centre (CITICAN) is a dynamic organisation aimed at providing technology-based services to companies and organisations from different sectors to improve their competitiveness and efficiency.

 

CITICAN develops activities such as:

Carrying out R&D&I projects with companies and promoting the participation of research personnel from the higher education sector.

Providing support services for innovation and business development: specialised technological advice, internationalisation, and entrepreneurship.

Disseminating knowledge through training activities.

Developing and promoting the integration of new information and communication technologies in university activity and the improvement of educational methods.

Creating research links at a national and international level, especially with Latin America and Europe.

Cantabria

IHCantabria is a joint research institute that was created administratively as a result of the collaboration between two institutions: the Cantabrian University and the Cantabrian Government , represented through the Environmental Hydraulics Institute of Cantabria Foundation (Fundación Instituto de Hidráulica Ambiental de Cantabria).

IHCantabria was created on 22 March 2007 (World Water Day) with the union of two research groups from the School of Civil Engineering of the University of Cantabria, which had been carrying out intense scientific-technical work in subjects related to inland and coastal water engineering for more than 25 years.

IBBTEC

The Institute of Biomedicine and Biotechnology of Cantabria (IBBTEC) is a joint centre with shared ownership by the University of Cantabria (UC), the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), and the Regional Government through the Society for the Development of Cantabria (SODERCAN), whose objective is to carry out quality scientific research in the biological field, both in basic and applied aspects, with the mission of advancing scientific knowledge and promoting the transfer of results and technology to the productive sector.

The University of Cantabria is present in the PCTCAN through the following infrastructures:

IBBTEC is a joint centre of shared ownership between the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), the University of Cantabria (UC), and the Government of Cantabria through SODERCAN (Society for the Development of Cantabria).
